Jesus, What a Hero…

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son… His one and only son… JESUS who LOVED us so much, He suffered and died on a cross for our sins. Easter, such an important time to focus on what all Jesus went through for us. He gave up His life for each of us, having no guarantee that anyone would love Him or would accept His amazing gift of eternity in Heaven. He walked this earth as a man, just like me and you… Breathed the same smells, felt the same wind blowing against His cheek, and endured the same temptations we face. Jesus, what a Hero. He endured such suffering on the day He gave His life for us. He was betrayed by Judas (one of His own followers), suffered an excruciating beating, a crown of thorns pushed down into His head, mocked by many, denied by Peter 3 times (one of his followers), had to carry His own cross, had a nail pierced into each of His hands and feet (3 total), cried out He was thirsty..only to be offered wine vinegar on a sponge, and hung on a cross between two criminals. Through all of His pain and suffering, He still cried out with loving compassion for the soldiers…”Father, forgive them for they know not what they do”. One of the criminals said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”  Jesus answered […]

HIS Love…

I love spending some time each day reading different devotionals. I usually have my go to ones on the internet, but I recently received a book, “Jesus Always” by Sarah Young (her first one Jesus Calling is amazing!) from my sister for my birthday. It has verses at the end of each devotional, so I have to physically look up the verse in my Bible. All week long, as I have been looking up the verses from the book, I find myself coming back across the verse Romans 8:39…which has […]

Rainbow

Rain…  it’s always, “when is it ever going to stop” or “we sure could use some”….   As for this week, my yard (and heart) has had its fair share of rain. (Thank you Lord, you are..after all the best weather man!) We all go through struggles in life, whether it be health, relationships, finances, or just plain ol “woke up on the wrong side of the bed” mood. As I was at my Granny and Pa’s this week (one of my favorite places in the whole world to be!) I heard the rain start coming down on their “sky viewing window”.  I already was in one of those “grumpy/sad” moods due to my health that week and now was going to have to deal with driving in the RAIN (not my favorite thing to do)… As I was walking over to my Granny’s kitchen sink, (where so many dishes and even my hair has been washed by my loving Granny!) I glanced out the window that is above that sink and saw it. A RAINBOW! God’s beautiful promise. Bursting with color over my Pa’s cows that I always helped feed and look after with him…(if the tractor or four-wheeler was moving..hey you better bet this gal was going with her Pa)  I can not describe the JOY and happiness that washed over me when I saw that rainbow in the field with all them cows. I started shouting, “LOOK! […]

Here we go….

Let me take you back to June 2017. As I lay wide awake, in a hospital bed, just desperately wanting to get just 5 minutes of sleep, all I kept thinking was… “Where are you Lord? I feel so alone and I have felt so alone for quite some time now.” (Physically, no I wasn’t alone… I had my family there supporting me) I finally spoke those words aloud “WHERE ARE YOU LORD?” I have never heard him more clearly in my life….. “I AM the APLHA and the OMEGA….. I will never leave you or forsake you no matter how far you run” I began bawling my eyes out, thanking him for reminding me that I am HIS and he is always there even when I can’t see it. My precious Savior spoke to me!  Me?  Little ‘ol me… Who has been sick for a long time and couldn’t ever find an answer. Who had been praying, praying, and kept PRAYING. I kept feeling like I was praying but My Heavenly Father wasn’t listening. My Heavenly Father was listening. He always bends down to listen even if we give him but a whisper. In the midst of the storm if we focus on him and not the storm around us, He is always there. BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD. He tells us to be STILL, but in all my waiting and unanswered prayers I was all over […]
