Rainbow

Rain…  it’s always, “when is it ever going to stop” or “we sure could use some”….   As for this week, my yard (and heart) has had its fair share of rain. (Thank you Lord, you are..after all the best weather man!) We all go through struggles in life, whether it be health, relationships, finances, or just plain ol “woke up on the wrong side of the bed” mood. As I was at my Granny and Pa’s this week (one of my favorite places in the whole world to be!) I heard the rain start coming down on their “sky viewing window”.  I already was in one of those “grumpy/sad” moods due to my health that week and now was going to have to deal with driving in the RAIN (not my favorite thing to do)… As I was walking over to my Granny’s kitchen sink, (where so many dishes and even my hair has been washed by my loving Granny!) I glanced out the window that is above that sink and saw it.

A RAINBOW!

God’s beautiful promise. Bursting with color over my Pa’s cows that I always helped feed and look after with him…(if the tractor or four-wheeler was moving..hey you better bet this gal was going with her Pa)  I can not describe the JOY and happiness that washed over me when I saw that rainbow in the field with all them cows. I started shouting, “LOOK! LOOK! A rainbow!” I was out the door before I even got half of that out, making my way to get a closer look and hoping to snap a picture before it was gone.  Luckily, I got the picture as it was fading away. As it faded away, the rain also became lighter and lighter, and I felt that huge storm cloud mood I was carrying, lift off my shoulders and shift into a sunny day kinda mood.  A sense of peace that transcends all of MY understanding……That picture, in my mind and in print, I will cherish for as long as I live. Of course, I’ve looked at that field a hundred times from the same angle, from the same window, ate from that grape-vine right beside that same field, and even sat on the back porch in a rocking chair breaking beans and saw the same field. This time seeing it was almost magical… let me rephrase that… to me a Miracle…. a GIFT.. given to me from my KING OF KINGS to see on one of my days where I didn’t even want to leave my house. Seeing it that day, opened my eyes and heart even more than before. I saw that field in a whole new way.

God’s promises shining through the clouds.

Somehow, I felt Him saying, “It’ll all be ok, My Child” through that rainbow. I PRAISE HIM for opening my heart and eyes more… each day my own ol self moves out of the way to become more like HIM! Seeing things and others through HIS eyes, not my own.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full” John 10:10

God knew I needed that rainbow to lift my spirits and I am so thankful for it. I am also very thankful I got out of the house that day instead of hiding behind blinds and letting the enemy win. I would’ve been robbed of that special blessing if I would’ve sat at home that day! Satan wants to rob you from blessings and joy. But the Lord has come so that you may have life and have it abundantly.

“Idle hands are the devil’s workshop” Proverbs 16:27                                                       Stuck at home due to illness, stuck in traffic, or simply having one of those storm cloud kinda days…

Glance around and soak in the Lords precious masterpiece… LIFE!

Instead of drowning in the puddles…. throw on your muck boots and dance in the rain!

Look for His rainbow… even if life is pouring down around you!

Just whisper…. JESUS….. I promise, He is always there! (HE PROMISES TOO!)

I’m going to share a very special song that has ALWAYS got me PRAISING MY JESUS! I’ve sung it in church and every time I hear it on the radio.. I blast my speakers. It’s one of the songs that brings me right back to the feet of Jesus…exactly where I need to be. I hope it blesses you as much as it does me!!!!!!                                                                                                   “Do you wonder why you have to feel the things that hurt you, if theres a God who loves you… where is he now?” (Just Click on “Before the Morning below” and it should take you to the song)
