Buttercups…

As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.  Psalm 103:15-16

Any of my family or friends know how much I love flowers. Every Spring, I can not wait to see the first buttercup pop up…mainly because my Daddy has always brought my Momma and I buttercups in from the log woods as soon as they bloom…and since my Brother E saw Daddy do this, he also does it too…How special it makes us feel! I LOVE getting out in the yard to water my flowers, pick the weeds, take pictures of them, pick some to bring in to admire on the counter and give to others! (Flowers just make my heart smile!) Both my Grannys have always told me those buttercups will either get a frost or snow on top of them. Old Wise Tale…(but almost always true!) I owe both my Grannys (and my Momma) for my love of flowers, both have always had tons in their yards and they radiated so much joy when you complimented their flowers..(guess it rubbed off on me). Even though the Old Wise Tale predicts frost or another snow, just seeing that first burst of color after a cold season is refreshing and brings hope that warmer days are ahead!

Flowers blossom with radiant color and lovely aroma only to fade and wither once their season have come and gone. Here on Earth, we too, are somewhat like flowers. We all have a certain time to love others and share Gods promises.

Scripture says, “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.” Matthew 24:36

Just like the verse from Psalm, “for the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof know it no more..”  Our life is so delicate. We must make the most of every breath. Each minute we are here is a GIFT from God! We only have such a short time to make a difference. To show others love like Christ loved… to teach others how they can find a life that will last for eternity.. to bear a testimony that says…

JESUS SAVES!

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23

We all struggle every day in life, with each other we can strive to do better and keep one another accountable. We can reach down with a helping hand to pick up our neighbor,  give an encouraging word to the one you see having a bad day….or just simply SMILE to anyone you meet along the way on this precious journey of LIFE that God has blessed us with.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’ve first begun.

SING GOD’S PRAISE! Be the flower that leaves a lasting impression long after your fragrance has gone and your petals have wilted. SING GOD’S PRIASE!
