Jesus, What a Hero…

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son…

His one and only son…

JESUS

who LOVED us so much, He suffered and died on a cross for our sins.

Easter, such an important time to focus on what all Jesus went through for us. He gave up His life for each of us, having no guarantee that anyone would love Him or would accept His amazing gift of eternity in Heaven. He walked this earth as a man, just like me and you… Breathed the same smells, felt the same wind blowing against His cheek, and endured the same temptations we face.

Jesus, what a Hero.

He endured such suffering on the day He gave His life for us. He was betrayed by Judas (one of His own followers), suffered an excruciating beating, a crown of thorns pushed down into His head, mocked by many, denied by Peter 3 times (one of his followers), had to carry His own cross, had a nail pierced into each of His hands and feet (3 total), cried out He was thirsty..only to be offered wine vinegar on a sponge, and hung on a cross between two criminals.

Through all of His pain and suffering, He still cried out with loving compassion for the soldiers…”Father, forgive them for they know not what they do”. One of the criminals said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”  Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:32-43)

At the moment Jesus gave up His spirit, the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. When the people who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely He was the Son of God!”

His body was wrapped in a clean linen cloth and placed in His own new tomb. A big stone was rolled over the entrance of the tomb. Pilate ordered a guard be placed in front of His tomb. On the third day, after His death, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake and an angel of the Lord came down from Heaven.. rolled back the stone and sat on it. He said to the women, ” Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here, He has RISEN, just as He said He would. Scripture tells us, Jesus appears to two believers traveling on the road. He also appears to His disciples, and says to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” (Mark 16:15)  After the Lord Jesus spoke to them, he was taken up into Heaven and He sat at the right hand of God.

GLORY BE TO GOD!

He is Risen! Jesus Is Alive!

Forgiveness…. it was bought with the precious blood of Jesus.

Jesus…what a HERO He is.

I’m going to put two songs on here today. I couldn’t decide between the two. (Just click the names of the songs below and it should send you to the link)…It shows clips from a movie that is hard to watch, but would have been even harder to have walked in His shoes. I just can’t imagine the pain He suffered for ME! THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!
