Time…
Time… We all think we don’t have enough time to get all of our tasks done. We all have thought….Oh, I will just call or visit my family/friends tomorrow…I don’t have time to hold open a door for that elderly person, I have to get in here and out so I can hurry home, get supper and laundry done before my “show” comes on…or I don’t have time to set aside a few minutes in the morning or night to PRAY and THANK the Almighty One who gave me my next breath.
Thats right….. your next breath. He gives you your next inhale and exhale of oxygen. We are not promised the next second of our life. In an instant, He can decide if it is your time to be taken from this earth.
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit, whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow, for what is life? It is even a VAPOR that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lords will, we shall live and do this or that.” James 4:13-15
Man is like a breath; His days are like a passing shadow. Psalm 144:4
He comes forth like a flower and fades away; He flees like a shadow and does not continue. Job 14:2
Ecclesiastes tells us, to every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven. Only our Heavenly Father knows how many days on earth we will have. It is up to us to decide how we are going to use the time HE blesses us with. Hurried along missing all of His glorious blessings because we are too busy (or selfish) to open up the eyes of our hearts…. or casually strolling along, appreciating every breath we breathe, admiring His many wonders, showering His people with love, and sharing His grace to others. I hope you always find time to call/visit loved ones and let them know how much you care/love them because we never know how much “time” anyone has. May you set aside some “time” to thank the Lord for the “time” He is graciously giving to you.
