Under His Wings…
He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge… Psalm 91:4
Oh…how this verse has such profound meaning to me now. Bittersweet…. A verse that always puts a smile on my face, a tear in my eye, and a whispered prayer for a dear sister in Christ.
“From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is HIGHER than I. For you have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your WINGS.” Psalm 61:2-4
“Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by.” Psalm 57:1
“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry.” Psalm 34:15
Under His wings find a shelter to run to, find protection and shelter from the pain. Cry out to the ROCK that is higher than you. Let Him fill your cup until it runs over with HIS Almighty strength and comfort. We can all draw strength from Him, our strong tower. He always hears and helps those who love Him. Pain is unbearable… no one can comprehend what the person is going through or say the right words. We must pray for our family and friends who are going through such pain..and simply just be there for them, if only to just sit and hand them the next tissue. Somewhere today someone is losing a loved one, while another is struggling to keep their marriage together, getting the news of cancer, or desperately hoping for a baby…….. While at the same time, someone just welcomed a precious baby into the world, finished their last round of chemo, or celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. No matter what is going on in your life… If it is happiness, just remember the person beside you might be experiencing tremendous pain…. have no regrets..take the time to BE THERE for those hurting and in need.
God, I pray you give all those hurting… refuge under Your wings. GOD, GIVE THEM STRENGTH.
