HIS Love…
I love spending some time each day reading different devotionals. I usually have my go to ones on the internet, but I recently received a book, “Jesus Always” by Sarah Young (her first one Jesus Calling is amazing!) from my sister for my birthday. It has verses at the end of each devotional, so I have to physically look up the verse in my Bible. All week long, as I have been looking up the verses from the book, I find myself coming back across the verse Romans 8:39…which has been highlighted with a pink highlighter at some point in my life. I have truly enjoyed getting more hands on with my Bible instead of just reading the scripture online, because I find other “treasured” verses I have highlighted that meant so MUCH to me at one point in my life. Since I keep coming back to this verse, I want to share it.
“Neither height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
I keep reading it over and over, trying to soak in every word.
Christ Jesus our Lord.
NOTHING will ever separate us from HIS LOVE!
” For God so LOVED the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Wow! What love He has for us. To send His only Son, to set an example of how we are supposed to live for the short amount of time He has blessed us with here. I feel this post is similar to “The Ultimate Valentine”.. but If God lays it on my heart… I am going to share it a thousand times if HE blesses me with the words.
He tells us to, “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you.” Matthew 5:44
Trust me, I know how hard it is to turn the other cheek (still learning to!!!!)…we all fall short.. but we must FORGIVE and LOVE to show others Gods grace. If we repent, the Lord says, He will forgive and cast our sins as far as the east is from the west.
“But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:15
FORGIVE,FORGIVE, FORGIVE so that I will be FORGIVEN…. How many times are we told to forgive others???
Matthew 18:22 says, we are to forgive 70 x 7 times… in other words, ALWAYS FORGIVE. We must forgive so that we may be forgiven… Does our flesh want to lash out in anger when others hurt us… sure, we all have moments of weakness.. Jesus came and walked through the same hardships as us and sinned not. He showed others compassion, grace, love, and patience…. In Matthew 21:12-13.. “And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and brought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves. And said unto them, It is written, MY house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.” Jesus got angry..but in his anger he sinned not!
Ephesians 4:26 “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath.”
Remember….NOTHING will ever separate YOU from HIS LOVE!
