Look at the Birds of the Air…

As I was pulling up to my parents home today, I noticed a little bird sitting in one of my Mom’s beautiful, springtime blooming trees. There on a tree branch, sat one of God’s creatures, with it spitting snow all around, just resting. (I felt like this little bird was placed there just for me from my Heavenly Father.) As I got out of my car to take a picture, praying it wouldn’t fly away and thanking the Lord for what a beautiful sight, the words Jesus spoke about the birds of the air came to my mind.  Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?  “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;  and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?  “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’  For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you […]

He Hears Your Heart!

We all go through trials in this life. Sometimes, we have no words to express the emotions that are within us about the storms that are trying to tear us apart… Exhaustion, confusion, and even “Why me?”, may start to consume you from these situations. The trials may come one right after another and get you so upset, that you can not even speak a single word to your Heavenly Father. “The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the […]

The Ten Commandments

As soon as I woke up this morning, I remembered only one specific thing from my dream. (Sometimes I remember my dreams and other times I think, “did I dream at all?”) What I do remember from last nights dream has played over and over again in my mind all day. It was a man chiseling into a big piece of stone. Chiseling away, hitting a pick looking object with a rock, determined to finish the task. Of course, my first thought this morning (after the morning wake up fog, haha) was… Moses & The Ten Commandments With that being said, I was going to just write out a list of The Ten Commandments, but decided to write out exactly what God spoke to Moses. This passage can be found in Exodus 20:1-17 KJV “And God spoke all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third […]

HIS Love…

I love spending some time each day reading different devotionals. I usually have my go to ones on the internet, but I recently received a book, “Jesus Always” by Sarah Young (her first one Jesus Calling is amazing!) from my sister for my birthday. It has verses at the end of each devotional, so I have to physically look up the verse in my Bible. All week long, as I have been looking up the verses from the book, I find myself coming back across the verse Romans 8:39…which has […]

This little light of mine..

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your LIGHT so SHINE before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”  Matthew 5:14-16 One of my favorite songs to sing as a kid… “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine…hide in under a bushel, NO,  I’m gonna let it shine… won’t let satan blow it out, I’m gonna let it shine… let it shine, let it shine, let it SHINE!!!!!!!!”   Yesterday, my preacher was preaching and this little quote he said stuck with me the whole day through. “Like a light bulb, we are to shine for Him… sometimes we may feel like a whole bucket of paint has been splattered on our bulb…but our light will still be visible through the splatter.” It made me think to myself, it doesn’t matter how dark and gray my circumstances may seem, there is still light to shine, because I have Christ in my heart. His light will always prevail no matter what the darkness may be. Darkness can NOT triumph over light. Even a small candle light can spray enough light to guide our path in the dark. Just like in […]

HIS TIMING

I will never forget where I was when I decided I wanted to become a Beautician. I was watching my mom get her hair washed at the beauty shop where my cousin L worked. It was a cute place on the square of my home town. I looked at them and said “I am going to work with you someday!” Guess what…. I did! After months of trying to persuade my parents that I truly wanted to go to hair school instead of going to college, I ended up having to give college a “TRY”….. Well, I tried it… for two weeks! Haha!! The whole two weeks was misery because I knew where my heart was! I cried the whole two weeks and finally my parents decided to let me go on to beauty school. I am thankful I tried college (even if only for two weeks) just so I don’t have any “What IFs”…. As a child, all my barbies had their hair brushed, braided, in pig tails, and you guessed it…. CUT!!! My hair was always in pig tails, which my Daddy would grab like handlebars and say “budd-en budd-en”(like the sound of a motorcycle)… I loved getting my hair done in different styles. A lot of nights, my Momma would roll my hair in rags. I would sleep in it and the next day I became “Shirley Temple”…. After finishing hair school, I soon realized that SOMEDAY….(LORD […]

Rainbow

Rain…  it’s always, “when is it ever going to stop” or “we sure could use some”….   As for this week, my yard (and heart) has had its fair share of rain. (Thank you Lord, you are..after all the best weather man!) We all go through struggles in life, whether it be health, relationships, finances, or just plain ol “woke up on the wrong side of the bed” mood. As I was at my Granny and Pa’s this week (one of my favorite places in the whole world to be!) I heard the rain start coming down on their “sky viewing window”.  I already was in one of those “grumpy/sad” moods due to my health that week and now was going to have to deal with driving in the RAIN (not my favorite thing to do)… As I was walking over to my Granny’s kitchen sink, (where so many dishes and even my hair has been washed by my loving Granny!) I glanced out the window that is above that sink and saw it. A RAINBOW! God’s beautiful promise. Bursting with color over my Pa’s cows that I always helped feed and look after with him…(if the tractor or four-wheeler was moving..hey you better bet this gal was going with her Pa)  I can not describe the JOY and happiness that washed over me when I saw that rainbow in the field with all them cows. I started shouting, “LOOK! […]
