The Harvest Truly Is Plentiful…
But when He saw the multitudes, He was filled with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to his disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few, therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:36-38
This Monday, my Momma and I traveled to my doctor appointment and couldn’t wait to eat at our favorite restaurant on the way back home. As soon as we sat down, I heard the Christian music playing… I also noticed the manager at a table asking how their service had been… this didn’t really sink in until after we started being served. Let me just say, best service I have ever experienced. Momma and I just kept noticing how respectful and kind the gentleman was. Opening our A1 sauce, bringing us refills without us asking, bringing us a sauce to try with our bread… “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of inheritance; for you serve the Lord.” Colossians 3:23-24 … He was living this scripture, doing his job with all his heart.
As we were getting ready to leave, I reached into my wallet to get a Christian card out… (Momma and I try to leave one anytime we go somewhere to eat and I write my website on the back)… (share Jesus everywhere!!)… Momma mentioned, “He already has Jesus, you can tell.” Still yet, here I go digging in my wallet to get it out, then finished up filling out the paper that ask how our service was. He came back to the table with our to go boxes with extra bread, and we expressed to him how thankful we were for His service, for being so kind and caring… which then brought up… you guessed it, JESUS… We talked for a bit about how we just have to be the light to others even when there is negativity. He mentioned a bible verse from James (wish I could remember the exact one), and said when he is having a rough day he just listens to the music and it draws him back in. He thanked us for the card and asked us, if we cared if the manager came over to collect the service card we had filled out. When the manager came over, of course we expressed our gratitude of such excellent care and my Momma even expressed it was the best service she has ever had anywhere.
On the way out, we seen a solider standing in line to get his food. My heart was already so full of Jesus because of the music and service we had… in that moment of seeing that solider standing there, it kicked into overdrive. A solider, that Momma and I both thanked for his service and shook his hand. As we headed out the door, tears of joy came streaming down my cheeks (anyone that knows me, knows that lately, tears come often they have my whole life, but LOTS more the closer my relationship to God grows)… not sad tears of course… I just get so overfilled with Gods love and thankfulness for His grace that it has to come out one way or another, so tears it is. (My cup runneth over…Psalm 23:5) Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and TRY Me now in this, says the Lord of hosts, If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and POUR out for you such a blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:10 Heavenly Father… THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for filling my heart with such blessings that it overflows and POURS out of me…Thank you that there is not enough room to hold your love in my heart that it overflows so much, it has to come out to praise and share you. You, Oh Lord, are my chosen portion, my soul, I hope in you… you have made my lot secure. Psalm 16:5 and Lamentations 3:24… OH, HOW I LOVE JESUS!
Seeing that solider, made me realize how THANKFUL I am that I live in a land that is still, One Nation Under GOD. Soldiers give their lives for me. Our freedom is not free… and one soldier… Jesus Christ, gave His life for ALL… for nothing in return. He took all sin and gave His last breath for you and me.
Just like the waiter, my Momma expressing, “He already has Jesus…” We should all be known as “having Jesus,” if He is our Savior, we should radiate Him… His love and compassion should pour out of us.
Yes, the harvest truly is plentiful… so many lost souls out there that just need a kind word or a caring smile. Be laborers (soldiers) for God, gathering up the harvest with His love… Gather as many hearts as you can to worship our King forevermore.

You have such a kind heart. We have to choose our focus and choose joy. It’s so easy to focus on the negativity and be down about everything… but that’s not what the Lord wants. ❤️ Thank you for sharing
