Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” James 4:13-15

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10

For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow. Job 8:9

Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not. Job 14:1-2

Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth. Proverbs 27:1

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalm 90:12

As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, And its place remembers it no more. But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children, To such as keep His covenant, And to those who remember His commandments to do them. Psalm 103:15-18

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment… Hebrews 9:27

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:19-21

LIFE IS A VAPOR COMPARED TO ETERNITY. ETERNITY NEVER ENDS. YOU ARE HERE TODAY AND COULD BE GONE TOMORROW. ARE YOU WORKING TOWARDS YOUR ETERNAL STATE OR SEEKING TEMPORARY PLEASURES THAT WILL ONLY LAST FOR THIS LIFE. WE MUST ENDURE UNTIL THE END. (But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Matthew 24:13) KEEPING THE LORDS COMMANDMENTS. GODS WORD SAYS WHEN WE ARE BORN AGAIN WE ARE A NEW CREATION. WE ARE TO DENY OURSELF DAILY (Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. Luke 9:23) WE ARE TO SEEK HIS WILL, AND WE ARE TO PUT THE OLD SELF AWAY. (He must increase, but I must decrease. John 3:30)

A TRUE NEW CREATION WILL NOT CONTINUE IN A LIFESTYLE OF WILFULL ONGOING SIN. (Yes, we all fall short daily, but we can NOT live an ongoing daily lifestyle in a sin that Gods Word says will not inherit the kingdom of God.) (For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. Hebrews 10:26-27) If you continue in a lifestyle of daily willful sin and Gods correction does not come to you- PLEASE SEE WHAT GODS WORD SAYS ABOUT THIS- (If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Hebrews 12:7-8)

HAVE YOU PUT AWAY YOUR OLD SELF? HAVE YOU BECAME A NEW CREATION IN CHRIST? HAVE YOU PUT AWAY YOUR WANTS AND STARTED SEEKING/LIVING HIS REVEALED WILL IN HIS WORD? I HOPE SO, YOUR ETERNITY DEPENDS ON IT. (Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). HIS WORD EVEN SAYS WE MAY HAVE TO LOSE OUR LIFE TO GAIN HIM (meaning our wants on this earth) TO HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. (For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. Matthew 16:25) REPENT-completely turn away and become a NEW creation. (Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out. Acts 3:19)

Remember, these light afflictions (trials, temptations, heartbreak…) are only for a season. A short time down here on earth that you must endure (with Gods strength). Don’t give up your eternity for the vapor of life on earth. It says we are just a shadow, like the grass withering away. Keep your eyes on the King. (But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33) It will be you and you alone the day you meet the Lord. Your path to eternity can’t depend on anyone else-YOU will answer for the path you followed. Its your path and yours alone. (Strait is the gate and narrow is the way…) Don’t sacrifice your eternity just because the “world” is going the opposite way. Stand for Christ-you have to forsake the “broad way that leadeth to destruction”. He will give you strength! (I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13)

P.S. Make sure the trials and light afflictions of this life cause you to kneel before the King, to praise Him in the storm, to cling to His ALMIGHTY hand. When you are hanging on by a thread, make sure its the hem of His garment. Don’t let the enemy’s schemes and trials cause you to start going the broad path. “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good…Genesis 50:20) The enemy only comes to steal, kill and destroy. Stay tough-get on your knees, in Gods Word, cry out to Him for strength, and most of all KEEP PRAISING GOD for ALL things. (Don’t tell God how big your storm is. Tell the storm how big God is.)

Seek HIS WORD and make sure you are doing His will. This life is NOT worth hearing “depart from me- I never knew you.” Matthew 7:21-23
